Before it become a tourism place, Kuta is a trade harbour. In there all of native products sold to the buyer from the outside of Bali. In 19th century, Mads Lange, a merchant from Denmark, come to Bali and he built the trade center in Kuta. With his negotiation skill, Mads Lange become a trade broker between Kings off Bali and Holland.

In other time, Hugh Maahbett was released his book "Pujian Untuk Kuta". This book contens are about Bali's society lesson to prepare the tourism facilities. It's for anticipating the expansion of tourism visit into Bali. Then, this book give inspirations to many people to built the tourism places likes hotels, restaurants, and entertainment places.

THE INTEREST

The main enchantment of Kuta beach are the wide and slope area and it's white sandd. The location is in the west side of Bali island and makes this beach has a beautiful sunset scenery. But, that popularity make Kuta as a 24 hours tourism place. In the morning, Kuta has visited by the tourist to enjoy the fresh air or just walks around there. At noon visitor usually enjoy the scenery by sunbathing in the edge of the beach. While the surfer spends their time by surfing in the wave of the kuta beach sea.

In afternoon, beside the tourist many Bali's citizen come with their family to play the sand or just swim to wait for the sunset. This condition continued in the night with the tourist who visited the entertainment places or restaurant.

To guard the safety of the tourists who swim, Kuta beach has at least 40 peoples as a guard. They separated in three post and separate in two shift time. First group guarded in 07.00 - 14.00 o'clock. And the second group in 12.00 - 19.00 o'clock.

The guards which have the red atribut were focusing to the dangerous wave pockets. This solid body men is always ready with three jet skies and six rescue boats.

THE ACCESS

From the Ngurah Rai International Airport, we just need about 10 minutes to go to Kuta beach. We can go anytime to the beach area by taxi or private transportation. In Kuta beach, no public transportation passing by.
